Bismillah...

"For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the Term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming: and He hears and knows (all things). And if any strive (with might and main) they do so for their own souls: for Allah is free of all needs from creation... and those who believe and work righteous deeds -them we shall admit into the company of the Righteous." ~Surat al-Ankabut, Ayahs 5-6, 9

15th of Sha'ban

Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem
Allahumma salli 'alaa sayyidinaa Muhammadin 'abdika wa rasoolikan-nabiyyil ummiyyu wa 'alaa aalihi wa sahbihi wa sallim.
As-salaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu : )

Just a quick note to remind us all that the 15th of Sha'ban is coming up soon! The ground is fertile for planting those spiritual seeds and the rainy season is just a few weeks away, so reap the fruit available to you and start doing extra right away, if you haven't already.

May Allah subhaanahu wa ta 'aala grant us the gift of extra recitation of Qur'an, extra nawaafil acts and salaahs, extra dhikr, and extra fasting now, and may we spiritually soar into Ramadan so that once it begins the wind of its blessings catch us under the wings and raise us to the lofty heights of wilaaya. Ameen.

Was-salaam ma'al ikraam,
Zareen

P.S. Click here for a post from last year which talks all about what you can do on the night and day of the 15th of sha'ban.

Aphorisms from The Almighty

'A'oodhu billahi min ash-shaytaanir rajeem.
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem.

Seest thou one who turns back,

Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)?

What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see?

Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses-

And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?-

Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another;

That man can have nothing but what he strives for;

That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight:

Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete;

That to thy Lord is the final Goal;

That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears;

That it is He Who granteth Death and Life;

That He did create in pairs,- male and female,

From a seed when lodged (in its place);

That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead);

That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction;

That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star);

And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people),

And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life.

And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors,

And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah).

So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up.

Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about?

This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old!

The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh:

No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare.

Do ye then wonder at this recital?

And will ye laugh and not weep,-

Wasting your time in vanities?

But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)!
