flesh hardens
eyes close to Light
lungs seal off

Life cannot enter a vessel
already filled with distraction

heedlessness
clouds the clarity
that only comes with
Faith

the child,
extremely limited in knowledge,
fears for her health

for the ender of health
is the guillotine
above her head

mere moments separate her from her
Beloved
to Whom she wishes to gift

soft, supersaturated flesh
open eyes and lungs
a vessel of Life and His Light
